Pet loss emotion support

This project explores how design can support people in coping with the loss of a pet.

Losing a pet is often an emotionally complex experience, yet it is frequently underestimated or unsupported in everyday life. Many existing solutions focus on memorialization, but offer limited support during the ongoing emotional transition.

In this project, we explore how AI can be used to learn from personal media — such as photos and videos — to generate a customized digital presence of the pet. Rather than recreating or replacing the pet, the aim is to create a gentle and personal way for owners to reconnect with memories.

This project does not seek to replace professional emotional support. Instead, it investigates how design can create space for reflection, remembrance, and gradual acceptance during the process of loss.
